Bringing Christmas Home: A First Look at My Festive Collection

October might feel a little early to talk about Christmas, but preparations have already begun in my Surrey studio. In between pouring autumn candles, I have been drying thuja and arranging cinnamon sticks, slowly bringing together a collection inspired by winter greenery, candlelit evenings and the warmth of a Christmas home.

Winter greenery and warm spice

Soft cream wax, delicate green thuja and warm brown cinnamon form the heart of the collection. Dried orange slices, star anise and pine cones bring the textures of a traditional Christmas, while red flowers and berries add rich festive colour. Together, they call to mind wreaths hung on doors, greenery gathered for the table and favourite decorations unwrapped year after year.

The thuja has been drying on my studio shelves for weeks, holding onto its soft green colour, ready to become part of each design. I arrange the botanicals by hand, letting the curve of an orange slice or the shape of a sprig guide where it belongs. These small natural differences give every candle its own character.

Candles to give, to keep, and to bring home a little of that Christmas warmth when the season arrives.

A few favourites from the collection

Cinnamon Wrapped Winter Spice Candle

Cinnamon feels so much a part of Christmas, and I wanted to give its natural beauty a design of its own. Whole cinnamon sticks surround this soy wax pillar, their warm brown tones and uneven textures giving it a simple, rustic charm. As it burns, candlelight glows softly from within, while the cinnamon stays in place around it. I imagine it on a wooden table with favourite crockery, ready for an evening of good food and familiar company.

Orange, Cinnamon, Thuja & Red Flowers Christmas Candle

For this botanical soy wax candle, I brought together the colours of a traditional Christmas: glowing orange, deep red flowers and delicate green thuja, nestled between cinnamon sticks and set against creamy soy wax. I arrange each piece by hand, giving every side its own little composition. The combination reminds me of a Christmas wreath, with fruit, greenery and spice gathered in one place. A candle to bring a little warmth to your festive home, or to wrap for someone who loves these natural details.

Orange & Evergreen Christmas Pillar Candle

This candle makes me think of a snowy winter’s day. I finish the top with soft, whipped wax and let little drips run naturally down the sides, like fresh snow settling on a branch. Around it, evergreen foliage and delicate clusters of red flowers frame slices of dried orange, which bring a bright touch of colour to the greenery. It is the kind of candle I would place at the centre of a Christmas table, where it can be admired from every side.

Christmas Botanical Jar Candle with Orange, Cinnamon, Pine Cone & Star Anise

This design holds the spices of the season in glass. I arrange dried orange, cinnamon, a small pine cone and star anise by hand within the clear gel wax outer layer, adding fine sprigs of gold-dyed foliage to catch the candlelight. The square glass jar lets me create a slightly different arrangement on each side, and I finish it with a natural wooden lid. As the soy wax core burns, the clear outer layer and its botanicals remain in place. Once the core has finished, it can be replaced with one of my candle refills. I like the thought of this little arrangement returning to your home each Christmas, alongside the decorations you look forward to bringing out again.

Christmas Botanical Candle Jar with Dried Orange, Cinnamon, Thuja & Red Flowers

While the star anise design celebrates winter spices, this one brings the classic colours of Christmas. Green thuja and bright red flowers sit alongside dried orange and cinnamon, suspended in a clear gel wax outer layer. Around the creamy soy wax core, the botanicals stay in view as the candle burns, like a small festive scene kept under glass. Once the core has finished, it can be replaced with one of my candle refills, so you can enjoy the botanical design Christmas after Christmas. It would sit beautifully on a mantelpiece, or beside the tree as the lights come on in the evening.

Bringing them into your home

I imagine these candles alongside the pieces that make Christmas feel like yours: a favourite ornament, a linen tablecloth or a treasured decoration brought out year after year.

You might choose a botanical pillar for your Christmas table or a jar candle for a quiet corner of the room. A few thoughtful details can be enough to create a setting you want to linger in, whether you are welcoming family and friends or settling down for an evening with a blanket and a cup of tea.

Wherever they find their place, I hope they become a small part of the Christmas moments you enjoy most.

A little Christmas from my studio

For now, autumn is still with us, but these first Christmas designs are ready to share. Each candle is made by hand in small batches, so every piece has its own character. You can browse my Christmas Candles collection and begin choosing the details you would like for your home this season.

It has been a pleasure to share these first designs with you, and I look forward to showing you more as the collection takes shape.
